About the Race

Where is it?

Skyview Ranch. More specifically, the race is taking place at 7241 Township Road 319, Millersburg, Ohio 44654, just about smack dab in the center of Holmes County.

What is it?

The Annual Skyview Ranch Rough and Rugged Race is an annual event that's all about digging in and pressing on. The route crosses 175 acres of beautiful country, but don't let the beauty fool you. The rugged cliffs are dangerous, the hills are steep, and the water is cold. Natural obstacles like creeks and gorges will be combined with artificial obstacles like underground tubes, nearly vertical stairs, mud, fire elements and more. Compete with your friends or against yourself as you battle the terrain to prove your epic-ness.

Why is it?

The race is being put on for three reasons.

Firstly, the staff at Skyview Ranch like having fun.

Secondly, this race is raising funds to scholarship summer camp for hundreds of children next summer. Skyview Ranch serves children from all around the country, giving them first rate experiences like horseback riding, scuba diving, paintball and much more. More importantly, Skyview provides a safe, caring atmosphere to let children know that God loves them, and has a plan for their lives.

And finally, Skyview wants the local community to know that it is available to serve all of its neighbors, from allowing residents to swim in its pool and go fishing in its pond, to catering events like reunions and church gatherings. What better way to let people "tour" the Ranch, than a race. And what better place to do a tough competition like this, than a 175-acre Ranch where the natural setting lends itself to the challenge?

Who is invited?

Anyone over the age of 18 can compete. All race participants are required to sign a liability waiver before starting the race. If you are under the age of 18, you must be accompanied by an adult (to the event, not necessarily through the race), and the parent or guardian must sign the liability waiver before the entrant starts the race. No minor under the age of 14 may compete in this race under any circumstances.
