FAQ's

Q: What does my entry fee go towards?

A: 100% of the income from the Rough and Rugged Race goes towards the Skyview Ranch Scholarship Fund. This fund helps campers who normally could not afford camp to attend a week-long life changing experience. For more information about summer camp at Skyview, visit this link skyviewranch.org

Q: Do runners have to be a certain age to participate?

A: Due to the nature of the event, runners must be 14 years or older by the day of the race in order to participate. If under the age of 18, they must be accompanied to the event by someone 18 years or older. This person is not required to run the race with the minor.

Q: If I bring an iPod, or other MP3 player, will it survive the race?

A: Probably not. With mud, water, and more mud, and more water, all throughout the race, we wouldn't advise bringing a device that isn't built to handle this. Also, with all the jostling, jogging, running and crawling you'll be doing, there's a very real chance that your electronic device could get lost in the mud, and forever be a part of the Skyview Ranch landscape (though we aren't sure if iPod's fossilize...).

Q: Can I walk this race course instead of running it?

A: You can run it, jog it, walk it, sache it, or crawl it, depending on your preference and physical ability. Ultimately, we want you to have a great time!

Q: Is there a swimming portion?

A: Our course does not include a swimming portion. There is a huge water slide to enjoy that enters our pond, but stays very shallow.

Q: What else is happening on race day?

A: We want this event to be fun for the whole family. Skyview will open up its pool, pond, and zip line for those that want to get the full Ranch experience.
